Nutritional Services

Meals, specific to each patient’s condition, are an important part of the treatment plan and recovery. CMH makes every effort to provide nutritious meals that are prepared according to physician’s orders.

Patients are served breakfast between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., lunch is served between 12 p.m. and 12:45 p.m., and dinner is served between 5:45 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. A patient’s meal may be delayed if they are scheduled for a special test or treatment. Whenever possible, the patient will be served after the examination or test.

The breakfast tray will include a menu from which patients may order their meals for the next day. Please mark your menu so it will be ready for pickup. If a patient has difficulty making menu selections, a member of the dietary department will be happy to help assist. Please call 417-328-6364 for assistance. If patients are on a special diet prescribed by their physician, they will receive menus tailored to their specific needs.

If a family member or friend wishes to eat in a patient’s room with the patient, they may go to the cafeteria, buy a meal there and take it back to the patient’s room. Nutritional Services looks for new and innovative ways to better serve patients and attend to their specific dietary needs. The nursing staff will keep patients informed and assist them with the ordering process.
