EMS Training

CMH Emergency Medical Services offers local training classes. They are for various levels of certification to provide emergency medical response.

Emergency Medical Responder Academy

Emergency Medical Responders offer immediate care to critical patients. Local fire/rescue agencies teach the 60-hour course.

Class Schedule

  • 60-hour course taught upon the request of a local fire/rescue agency

Credentials

After course completion, you are eligible to test for:

  • Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Responder Certification

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Academy

Emergency Medical Technicians offer essential care and transport for critical patients. After finishing the course, you can take the national EMT exam.

Class Schedule

  • Starts in January or September for 16 weeks in the evenings and on weekends

Credentials

After course completion, you are eligible to test for:

  • National EMT Certification
  • Missouri EMT Licensure

Summer EMT Internship Academy

You can work as a full-time EMT intern at CMH and earn an hourly stipend while training. We will reimburse your registration fee with a work agreement to work for CMH for one year.

Class Schedule

Starts in June and lasts 12 weeks

Credentials

After course completion, you are eligible to test for:

  • National EMT Certification
  • Missouri EMT Licensure

Paramedic Academy

Paramedics offer advanced medical care to critical patients. They aim to help those in emergencies. Students can get certified and licensed after completing the course.

Class Schedule

  • 16-week course begins in January

Credentials

After course completion, you are eligible to test for:

  • National Paramedic Certification
  • Missouri State Paramedic Licensure

Community Paramedic Academy

A Community Paramedic provides health education, monitoring, and services beyond traditional care. Working with medical direction, they are vital in Mobile Integrated Healthcare teams.

Class Schedule

  • 12-week course begins in September

Credentials

After course completion, you are eligible to test for:

  • International Community Paramedic Certification
  • Missouri State Community Paramedic Licensure
