Cindy Cain named administrator of Colonial Springs Healthcare Center, two added to administrative team

Colonial Springs Healthcare Center welcomes Cindy Cain, LNHA, as the new administrator for the facility. Cain has served as the interim administrator since May 2023.

Joining Cain on the leadership team is Justin Slack, RN, as the new director of nursing, and Zachary Spaulding, RN, as assistant director of nursing.

Cain has 26 years of healthcare experience including 11 years in social services at Citizens Memorial Hospital and CMH long-term care facilities. She earned a Bachelor of Science in sociology from Missouri Southern State University, Joplin, and is pursuing a Master of Social Work from Missouri State University, Springfield. Cain is a licensed nursing home administrator through the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.

Slack earned his registered nursing degree in 2015 from Bolivar Technical College and is pursuing a Master of Science in nursing administration from Western Governors University. His work experiences include eight years in direct patient care and nursing administration roles in hospice and long-term care. He previously worked for CMH in 2015 in the intensive care unit and as a charge nurse at Colonial Springs. Most recently, he worked at Woodland Manor in Springfield as the director of nursing services.

Spaulding earned his registered nursing degree 2016 from Texas County Technical College in Houston, Missouri, and completed his licensed practical nursing degree in 2013 from Bolivar Technical College. He has 10 years of nursing experience in both long-term care and hospital cardiovascular surgery departments.

Colonial Springs is a 134-bed skilled nursing center, including a 34-bed memory care unit and a 16-bed high-functioning memory care unit. The facility offers inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services and operates nearby independent living apartments. Colonial Springs is owned and operated by Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation in Bolivar.
