Colonial Springs Healthcare Center announces staff awards

Colonial Springs Healthcare Center recently presented awards to the CNA and Support Staff Member of the year for their outstanding service.

Marissa Graves, Certified Nursing Assistant, earned the 2026 Colonial Springs Healthcare Center CNA of the Year. Her love for elder care was inspired by her grandparents, who raised and adopted her when she was a child. This personal experience helps Graves connect with residents, making them feel genuinely loved through her caregiving.

Graves began working in long-term care in 2018 as a Certified Nursing Assistant. From the beginning, she stood out as a dedicated caregiver. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she made a noticeable effort to assist in areas where she was not required to work. Graves did this by supporting the activities department and helping with hairstyling.

“Marissa consistently goes above and beyond — staying late to comfort a resident, supporting families or even just brightening someone’s day with a smile,” said Roy Pace, administrator of Colonial Springs Healthcare Center.

Jackie Powell, who works in Nutritional Services, received the Support Staff Member of the Year. Powell is fully committed to the facility and to providing meaningful care for the residents. One way she displayed this commitment to Colonial Springs was by working 21 days in a row because of her desire to help people. Powell started working at Colonial Springs in 2025.

“In just one year with us, she has demonstrated a high level of commitment,” Pace said. “Powell’s commitment is what made her stand out for this award.”
