PALS Renewal Course - Pediatric Advanced Life Support

Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) Renewal Course is a 1-day AHA course designed to aid the pediatric healthcare provider in developing the knowledge and skills necessary to efficiently evaluate and effectively manage seriously ill infants and children.

Education services

In this course students will learn how to assess for evidence of respiratory and circulatory compromise, establish treatment priorities, and intervene when necessary to stabilize the child. At the conclusion, participants should be able to: Understand and perform the systematic approach to pediatric assessment of a seriously ill or injured child; Understand the "assess-categorize-decide-act" approach to management of a seriously ll infant or child; Recognize and manage a child in respiratory distress or failure and/or compensated or hypotensive shock; Recognize and manage a child with a life-threatening bradyarrhythmia, tachyarrhythmia, or cardiac arrest rhythm; Describe key elements of resuscitation team behaviors; Prevent further deterioration of the child's condition during the stabilization and transfer phases of care. Registration in advance is required.

**Must have a current AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers CPR card to take this course.**
