Mike McCarty, concierge, named July 2025 CMH TULIP Award winner
Mike McCarty, a concierge at the Kerry & Synda Douglas Medical Center at CMH, was named the July 2025 CMH TULIP Award winner.
McCarty was nominated by a patient who praised his kindness and willingness to go above and beyond.
“I moved to Missouri last November. I'm so very happy with CMH and all the doctors, nurses and other staff,” the patient wrote in the nomination letter. “For instance, last week I took the OATS bus, and I wasn't sure which building my appointment was at. The driver dropped me off at the Douglas Building, but I soon found out my appointment was actually at the main hospital. I am a disabled senior citizen, and I wasn't sure what I was going to do.
“Well, Mike, the very nice gentleman in the lobby who welcomes people and helps them in so many ways, actually helped me into a wheelchair and pushed me all the way to the hospital. What a delightful man he is. I am overjoyed with his kindness. What a great human being.”
