55 teams compete in 33rd annual CMH Golf Classic

Fifty-five teams gathered for this year’s annual Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation Medical Excellence Golf Classic, presented by SGC Foodservice. The tournament was held June 1 at Silo Ridge Golf and Country Club in Bolivar.

Teams of four competed to raise money for the CMH Medical Excellence Scholarship program, which provides financial aid to future Citizens Memorial health care professionals. To date, the fund has assisted more than 750 students.

The tournament featured two shotgun starts at 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Players enjoyed complimentary breakfast, lunch, snacks and Coca-Cola/Dr Pepper products at the tournament. At the end of the tournament, teams were placed into one of four flights and ranked from first to fourth. 

Championship Flight

In the championship flight, the Farmasi team (Johnsen, Johnsen, Angus and Whittle) took first with a 52; Tyler Johnsen’s Mainline Fire Protection team came in second (Johnsen, Angus, Whittle and Murray) with a 53; Absolute Fitness’ team of Murray, Kramer, Hill and Routh finished in third with 53; and Shelton, Godfrey, Millis and Peers, the CMH Auxiliary team, placed fourth with a 54.

A Flight

In the A flight, the team of Crabtree, Adams, Routh and Routh of the Stockton Area Chamber of Commerce took first place with 60; team Heartland Business Systems (Floyd, Moores, Ivie and Jones) placed second with 60; MacLaughlin, Scrixen, Mitchell and Mitchell representing Bolivar Technical College grabbed third with 60; and O’Bannon Bank (Behrle, McCarthy, Brown and Bedin) shot 61 to place fourth in the flight.

B Flight

The team sponsored by CBIZ Retirement & Investment Services (Fischgrund, MacLaughlin, Keller and Siegfried) led flight B with 65; followed by Crouch, Simmons, Brown and Bybee, Ozarks Community Health Center, in second with 65; the LimeBank team (Henenberg, Doke, Cloyd and Medley) were third at 65; and the team sponsored by Mid-Missouri Bank (Wagner, Rogers, Burton and Hancock) came in fourth with 65.

C Flight

In flight C, the team sponsored by Red Crow Marketing, Inc. (Marshall, Seevers, McGuire and Bench) took top honors with 69; the team sponsored by John Best, M.D. (Best, McClure, Gibbs and Miller) came in second at 69; team CoxHealth (Dr. Shawn Usery, Shamel, Prenger and Throckmorton) took third with 69; and JE Dunn Construction (Bryant, Evans, Moore and Mann) placed fourth at 69.

Next year’s CMH Medical Excellence Scholarship Golf Tournament will be held at Silo Ridge Golf and Country Club Thursday, June 6, 2023.
