Willard Medical Center expands prenatal care services, welcomes new physician

Willard area patients expecting a baby will have more options for prenatal care with the addition of Bethany Dhondt, D.O., at Willard Medical Center.

Dr. Dhondt is on the medical staff at Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar and provides family medicine and prenatal care at CMH clinics in Humansville and El Dorado Springs.

Dr. Dhondt will join Mylhan Myers, D.O. at Willard Medical Center starting May 11 to offer a comprehensive and coordinated approach to prenatal care for pregnant patients at the Willard clinic.

Dr. Myers will provide prenatal care during a patient’s first two trimesters, and Dr. Dhondt will provide care for the patient’s last trimester through delivery at CMH Birth Place in Bolivar. After delivery, Dr. Myers will oversee postpartum and pediatric health needs. Dr. Dhondt also can provide comprehensive prenatal care from positive pregnancy test through delivery and postpartum at CMH Birth Place.

Dr. Dhondt is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Medicine and the American Board of Obesity Medicine. She completed medical school at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri. Dr. Dhondt completed her residency at Capital Region Medical Center/University of Missouri/Family Medicine in Jefferson City, Missouri. She also completed fellowships in rural medicine/high-risk obstetrics at Tacoma Family Medicine in Tacoma, Washington, integrative medicine from the University of Arizona, Tucson, and osteopathic manipulative medicine at Kirksville, Missouri.

Dr. Myers is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Medicine and is board eligible in HIV Medicine by the American Academy of HIV Medicine. He completed medical school at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri. Dr. Myers completed his residency in family medicine at the University of Kansas School of Medicine’s Via Christi Family Medicine Residency in Wichita, Kansas. He also completed a fellowship in obstetrics at CoxHealth in Springfield.

The medical staff at Willard Medical Center and Walk-In Clinic includes Dr. Myers, Dr. Dhondt, Magen Blades, PA-C, Sherri Ament-Sturtevant, FNP-BC, Sarah Geltmacher, FNP-C and Erin Payne, PA-C.

The clinic offers comprehensive family care, pregnancy care, newborn and pediatric care and women’s health care, complete with on-site digital X-ray and laboratory services. The primary care clinic is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. The clinic also has a walk-in clinic that is open daily 8 a.m.-8 p.m. and provides convenient care for people of all ages with sudden illnesses or injuries.
