Kolby Follis is the March 2023 CMH DAISY Award winner

Kolby Follis, RN, received the March 2023 CMH DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. He is a registered nurse with Citizens Memorial Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.

He was nominated for the DAISY Award by a patient’s daughter.

“[Kolby] treated my dad like a family member of his own, not just a patient,” she wrote. “He made him laugh, engaged him in conversation and was incredibly caring. If he had a need or a request, he addressed it immediately.”

She wrote that Follis took time out of his day to help her father sketch an “invention” he was working on.

About the DAISY Award

DAISY is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System. The DAISY Foundation established the award in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who died at 33 of an auto-immune disease. The international award thanks nurses everywhere.

CMH started the DAISY Award program in January 2019. A CMH or Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation nurse receives the award each month.
