Citizens Memorial Hospital establishes network agreement with Ellett Memorial Hospital
Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH), Bolivar, and Ellett Memorial Hospital (EMH), Appleton City, have established a rural health network agreement between the two hospitals. CMH is 86-bed acute care hospital with a Level III trauma center, and EMH is a 12-bed critical access hospital.
The agreement allows for a number of services provided to EMH including the implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive electronic medical record (EMR). CMH implemented its EMR, Meditech, in 2000 and since then CMH has been noted by national organizations for its progressive approach to information technology. In addition to implementing Meditech, EMH patients can utilize “MyChart” patient portal that provides an intuitive, secure, web-based method for patients to access portions of their medical records through a secure web site.
Additional services provided to EMH by CMH include: consulting and oversight of social services; referrals and transfers of patients from EMH; radiologists reading X-rays; patient transportation (emergency and non-emergency); communications assistance; emergency service; credentialing; and quality assurance.
“This agreement with Ellett Memorial is a wonderful partnership between two rural hospitals,” says Donald J. Babb, Chief Executive Officer of CMH and Executive Director of Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation. “CMH has the necessary resources and the EMR expertise to help Ellett Memorial thrive in this new way of delivering health care to our patients in southwest Missouri.”
