CMH to break ground for new hospitality house
Tremain Family Hospitality House to be completed by spring 2013
The community is invited to attend a groundbreaking ceremony for the Tremain Family Hospitality House at Citizens Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, Sept. 5 at 10:30 a.m. The Hospitality House will be located across the street from the Carrie J. Babb Cancer Center (CJBCC) at CMH and will be an expanded service for oncology patients receiving treatment and care at the Cancer Center.
The facility will include six suite-like rooms, a kitchen, TV lounge, hearth room, dining room, laundry facilities, resource library with computer access, front covered porch and staff office. Each suite will have handicapped accessible bathrooms and a refreshment station. The facility also features a tornado-safe room.
The project was adopted by the CMH Auxiliary after several requests came to the Auxiliary board to provide lodging for patients needing a place to stay while receiving care at CJBCC. The Hospitality House is funded by community donations and is expected to be complete by spring 2013.
