CMH celebrated National Therapeutic Recreation Week July 8-14
Citizens Memorial Healthcare Foundation (CMH) recognized National Therapeutic Recreation Week July 8-14.
The purpose of National Therapeutic Recreation Week is to spread awareness of therapeutic recreations programs and services, and to expand recreation and leisure opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
CMH long-term care facilities offer a variety of therapeutic recreation activities supervised by the activity directors. Many of the activities directors are also National Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists (CTR). The activities directors include: Ash Carrel, CTR and Andi Presley, CTR, Butterfield Residential Care Center, Bolivar; Christy Birch, CTR, Parkview Healthcare Facility, Bolivar; Patrice Melton, CTR, Colonial Springs Healthcare Center, Buffalo; Rebecca York, Ash Grove Healthcare Facility, Ash Grove; Nina Berning, Community Springs Healthcare Facility, El Dorado Springs; and Cheryl Ahlers, CTR, Lake Stockton Healthcare Facility, Stockton.
