CMH Foundation announces COVID-19 test results for two facilities

Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation announces good test results from recent mass COVID-19 testing events at two of its long-term care facilities.

Colonial Springs Healthcare Center completed their fourth week of testing and Lake Stockton completed their first week of testing July 31, with no new positive cases of coronavirus among employees and no residents being infected with the virus.

“I want to commend our leadership team and staff for their continued focus on safety in our long-term care facilities,” says Beverly Derrickson, CMH Foundation chief operating officer. “I also want to thank our Citizens Memorial Hospital departments and staff that support and help us in providing care for our residents and employees. The entire CMH team has worked tirelessly to provide exceptional care and service to our residents, employees and communities.”

Colonial Springs Healthcare Center, Buffalo and Lake Stockton Healthcare Facility, Stockton, are two skilled nursing facilities owned and operated by CMH Foundation, Bolivar. CMH Foundation operates six long-term care facilities in Ash Grove, Bolivar, Buffalo, El Dorado Springs and Stockton, and one residential care center in Bolivar.

Colonial Springs previously reported that four employees had tested positive for COVID-19 and Lake Stockton reported one employee tested positive for COVID-19. Since Colonial Springs has had two consecutive weeks of no positive coronavirus cases from mass testing, they will discontinue weekly 100% testing of employees and residents per Federal and State regulations, but will continue to conduct random employee testing. Lake Stockton will hold follow-up mass testing at its facility next week.

All CMH Foundation long-term care facility employees wear masks, eye protection and other personal protective equipment during their shifts. Additionally, employees are screened at the beginning of their shifts for coronavirus symptoms including fever. Employees who test positive or develop symptoms of COVID-19 do not return to work until they are recovered and receive clearance.

All CMH Foundation facilities monitor closely for any symptoms of COVID-19.
