The first Doctors’ Day observance was held March 30, 1933, in Winder, Georgia. The idea for the observance came from Eudora Brown Almond, wife of Dr. Cha Almond, and the date was the anniversary of the first use of general anesthetic in surgery. The day was created to pay tribute to physicians and their contribution to society. Doctors’ Day became an official national holiday in 1990.

“CMH physicians work tirelessly to provide exceptional medical care to our patients and residents,” said Donald J. Babb, Chief Executive Officer/Executive Director of CMH. “We want to thank all our physicians for their leadership, dedication and service to our communities.”
