Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) recently recognized Sharon Truitt as the recipient of the 2018 Lillian Hutcheson Award.  Truitt was presented the Lillian Hutcheson Award, which is named in honor of Lillian Hutcheson who founded and led the Auxiliary program even before CMH opened in 1982 until her retirement in 2001, by Donald J. Babb, CMH chief executive officer/executive director.

Truitt began volunteering for CMH in November 2004 and four years later she recruited her husband, Jackie, to volunteer as well.  In just less than 14 years she has volunteered more than 10,000 hours.  Truitt has worked in many areas, but most of those hours were accrued while she was working as the manager and buyer for the hospital gift shop.  She currently volunteers at the Kerry and Synda Douglas Medical Center and the hospital information desks.

At CMH, volunteers make an enormous difference in the everyday lives of patients. If you are interested in being a part of this vital group, call the CMH Information Center at 888-328-6010 or 417-328-6010.
