Julee Crawley receives November 2025 CMH DAISY Award
Julee Crawley, RN, is the recipient of the November 2025 CMH DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. She is a registered nurse with CMH Hospice.
Crawley was nominated by families who experienced her compassionate care during end-of-life journeys.
One family wrote, “She treated our mother not as a patient, but as a person, with a life, a story, and a family who loved her deeply. Her presence brought calm when we felt overwhelmed, clarity when we felt lost, and comfort when our hearts were breaking. She helped our mother leave this world with dignity, peace and surrounded by care. That is a gift beyond measure.”
Another nomination praised Crawley’s consistent support and empathy: “If she was available to check a second time during the day on my husband, Julee was here with him and with me. Her hugs were indispensable during this time. She has a knack of saying and doing exactly what is needed and appropriate.”
The same nominator also highlighted Crawley’s attention to spiritual care: “On one visit, she brought the hospice chaplain with her… all because Julee had brought him on a day we needed God’s help. God gives us special gifts. He gave Julee the gift of service and compassion. He gave me the gift of Julee, my daily angel.”
About the DAISY Award
DAISY is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System. The DAISY Foundation established the award in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who died at 33 of an autoimmune disease. The international award honors nurses for extraordinary care.
CMH launched its DAISY Award program in January 2019. Each month, a nurse from CMH or Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation is recognized.
