CMH announces medical director of emergency services

Citizens Memorial Hospital has named Racheal Smith, M.D., as its new medical director of emergency services.

Dr. Smith brings a decade of experience in emergency medicine to the role. She most recently practiced at Cox Medical Center in Branson and Mercy Hospital in Springfield, caring for patients in high-volume emergency departments across southwest Missouri.

She earned her medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver. Dr. Smith completed her residency in emergency medicine at the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she distinguished herself as chief resident.

She later completed the Vituity Administrative Fellowship at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, California, focusing on clinical leadership and operational management. Dr. Smith is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine.

In her new role at CMH, Dr. Smith will oversee clinical direction and administrative leadership for the emergency department, emergency medical services and stroke services. CMH is located in Bolivar and is a Level III Trauma Center, Level II STEMI Center and Level III Stroke Center.
