Anna Williams receives October 2025 CMH DAISY Award

Anna Williams, RN, was named the October 2025 recipient of the CMH DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. Williams is a registered nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at Citizens Memorial Hospital.

She was nominated by two co-workers, who praised her dedication and compassion. According to the nomination, Williams arranged for an ICU patient with a complex and extensive hospital stay to see her brother, who was receiving a possible terminal diagnosis in the emergency department.

Williams personally transported the patient, along with the necessary monitoring equipment, so the siblings could be together before the patient was transferred to a higher level of care.

About the DAISY Award

DAISY is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System. The DAISY Foundation established the award in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who died at 33 of an autoimmune disease. The international award recognizes nurses for their extraordinary work.

CMH started the DAISY Award program in January 2019. A nurse from CMH or Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation is honored each month.
