Tyler Leith receives March 2025 CMH DAISY Award
Tyler Leith, RN, received the March 2025 CMH DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. At the time of her nomination, Leith was a registered nurse on Citizens Memorial Hospital’s Medical Surgical Unit. She now serves as a registered nurse in the hospital’s endoscopy department.
She was nominated for the DAISY Award by a patient’s family member.
“My dad is a cancer patient. He had been in and out of the hospital sick with pneumonia, highly dehydrated and very weak. Tyler was his nurse,” the patient’s family member wrote. “She went above and beyond. … She answered our questions, explained the importance of his meds and proper hydration and even contacted his oncologist, who was out of town.
“She brought calmness to our family during a scary time. I have no doubts in her ability to be the greatest registered nurse. The care my dad received from Tyler was top-notch. There needs to be more doctors and nurses like Tyler. She deserves this award and so much more. CMH is a better place because of her. My dad is home and doing well because of Tyler and her dedication to her patients.”
About the DAISY Award
DAISY is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System. The DAISY Foundation established the award in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who died at 33 of an auto-immune disease. The international award thanks nurses everywhere.
CMH started the DAISY Award program in January 2019. A CMH or Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation nurse receives the award each month.
