CMH Hospice announces annual Heroes for Hospice Race May 4

Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation invites the community to participate in the annual Heroes for Hospice Race presented by Craig Lehman-Shelter Insurance on Saturday, May 4.

Registration is open for the event, featuring a 5K, 10K and a new 1.5 Fun Run. The race starts at 9 a.m. and includes a unique “May the Fourth Be With You” Star Wars theme this year.

Race Details

The event, starting and ending in front of Bolivar Family Care Center, 1240 N. Butterfield Road, Bolivar, includes a scenic loop around Dunnegan Memorial Park. Electronic timing ensures accuracy. Medals will be awarded to the overall male and female winners, as well as the first-place finishers in each age division. Special recognition goes to the oldest and youngest "hero." Participants dressed as their favorite Star Wars characters are encouraged!

CMH Hospice caregivers strive to help patients remain as comfortable as possible at home, or in a homelike setting, with family and friends. The program also provides support to the family after the death of their loved one through a bereavement program.

Proceeds from the race will provide donations in our area to ensure that physical, emotional, spiritual and bereavement care is given to all terminally ill patients and their families.
