CMH Pediatric Clinic to offer drive-thru flu shot clinics

Citizens Memorial Hospital Pediatric Clinic will offer three drive-thru flu shot clinics for children aged 6 months to high school seniors from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 5, Thursday, Oct. 12, and Tuesday, Oct. 17, outside the clinic located at 1195 N. Oakland Ave., Bolivar.

The drive-thru clinics are open to all children; you do not have to be an established CMH Pediatric Clinic or CMH patient to receive the flu vaccine. Families are asked to review the pre-visit and drive-thru clinic instructions before the event to ensure a smooth visit.

The flu vaccine is recommended for children aged 6 months and older. When arriving at the event, parents and children are asked to remain in their cars, and clinic staff will be outside to provide instructions and administer the flu shots.

Pre-Visit Instructions:

  • All patients under 18 must be accompanied by an adult or legal guardian.
  • Please do not have pets in your vehicle.
  • Please dress your child for easy access to arms and legs. Short-sleeved shirts or shorts/onesie for small children is recommended.
  • Children receiving the vaccine should not eat or drink during the vaccination.
  • Please remove jackets before entering the drive-thru line.
  • Children should remain secured in their car seats or seat belts and only occupy the end seats (no middle seats).

Drive-Thru Clinic Instructions:

  • When arriving at the clinic parking lot, follow the signs to enter the drive-thru line. Your first stop will be registration for all children who are receiving the flu vaccine.
  • Follow directions to vaccination sites. Remain in the vehicle unless instructed otherwise.
