Infectious Disease/Internal Medicine, Family Medicine and OB/GYN join CMH
Citizens Memorial Hospital welcomes three new physicians to the CMH medical staff in August: Drs. Edemekong Bassey, Kurt Bravata and Sarah Cooper.
Edemekong Bassey, M.D., board certified in internal medicine, is a graduate of the College of Medical Sciences, University of Calabar, Nigeria. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. He also completed an infectious disease fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Mich.
Dr. Bassey’s practice includes general infectious diseases, ambulatory antimicrobial chemotherapy, HIV/AIDS care, infection control and hospital epidemiology, transplantation infectious diseases, antimicrobial stewardship, preventative care services and chronic disease management. He is accepting new patients at CMH Infectious Disease and Internal Medicine Clinic, 1300 North Oakland, Bolivar, 417-328-7985.
Kurt Bravata, M.D., a family medicine physician, attended medical school at Ross University School of Medicine, North Brunswick, N.J., and completed a family medicine residency at Lebanon Hospital Center in Bronx, N.Y.
His practice includes family medicine, geriatric care, pediatrics, men’s health, women’s health, IUD insertion, joint injections, skin biopsies and excision of lesions, urgent care, minor surgery, physicals and colposcopies. Dr. Bravata is joining the physicians and staff at Dallas County Family Medical Center, 201 S. Ash, Buffalo, 417-345-6100.
Sarah Cooper, D.O., obstetrics and gynecologist, is a graduate of Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Mo. She completed an obstetrics and gynecology residency at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital in Wyandotte, Mich.
Dr. Cooper’s practice includes obstetrics, gynecology, vaginal hysterectomy, laparoscopic minimally invasive surgery, hysteroscopy, endometrial ablation, Essure tubal ligation, infertility, abnormal PAP smear evaluation and female permanent sterilization. She is joining the physicians and staff at Bolivar OB/GYN, 1165 N. Butterfield, Bolivar, 417-777-8131.
