Citizens Memorial Hospital celebrates National Athletic Training month
During the month of March, Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) is celebrating National Athletic Training month. This month of recognition honors Certified Athletic Trainers nationwide for their commitment and dedication to the health and wellbeing of athletes and patients.
This month’s theme is “Every Body Needs an Athletic Trainer.” Located on the Southwest Baptist University campus, 1600 University Ave., Bolivar, the CMH Sports Medicine Center is home to nationally-certified athletic trainers, and is proud to be celebrating its 15th Anniversary as an outpatient department of CMH.
Athletic training is practiced by athletic trainers, health care professionals who collaborate with physicians to optimize activity and participation of patients and clients. Athletic training encompasses the prevention, diagnosis and intervention of emergency, acute and chronic medical conditions involving impairment, functional limitations and disabilities.
The CMH Sports Medicine Center specializes in providing injury evaluation, treatment and physical rehabilitation to athletes, and patients of all ages.
