Clinical Programs

Citizens Memorial Hospital is a level III trauma center. In the event of an emergency, you can rest assured that you and your loved ones will receive the best care possible at CMH.

Emergency care

Our Emergency Department includes a patient triage system; a fast-track urgent care area; 12 beds; designated cardiac, obstetric and orthopedic rooms; a state-of-the-art nurses' station; and an enclosed garage to protect patients during the transfer process from ambulance to hospital.

CMH is applying for STEMI designation, and offers 24/7 cardiology availability. STEMI – which stands for ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction – is a heart attack in which a blocked coronary artery prevents blood from getting to the heart muscle. A STEMI heart attack typically requires angioplasty for treatment, a procedure calling for insertion of a balloon in a blocked coronary artery followed by placement of a stent to keep the artery open and restore blood flow to the heart muscle.

A partnership with Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mo., provides ambulatory helicopter transfers for seriously ill or critically injured patients.
