Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation (CMH) residential and long-term care facilities and employees were honored at the 69th annual Missouri Health Care Association (MHCA) convention Aug. 27-30 in Branson, Mo. CMH was recognized as a platinum sponsor for the convention and was presented a plaque honoring their dedication to quality and service within the health care profession.

Butterfield Residential Care Center, Bolivar, and Lake Stockton Healthcare Facility, Stockton, were recognized for being deficiency free -- BRCC for six consecutive years and LSHCF for 10 consecutive years.

Facility Involvement Awards were given to Colonial Springs Healthcare Center (second place, full color category), Buffalo, Lake Stockton Healthcare Facility (third place, full color category), and Ash Grove Healthcare Facility (third place, classic black and white category), Ash Grove. The three facilities were honored for creating front page newspapers featuring their facilities.

Chris McBratney, administrator of Ash Grove Healthcare Facility and administrative director of long-term care facilities in Ash Grove, El Dorado Springs and Stockton, was elected to the board as the non-proprietary conference chair. Tim Francka, administrator of Parkview Health Care Facility, Bolivar, and administrative director of long-term care facilities in Bolivar and Buffalo, was elected to the board as Residential Care Facility/Assisted Living Facility (RCF/ALF) chair and National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) representative for Missouri at American Health Care Association (AHCA).

Jesse “Howard” Cook, a charge nurse for Citizens Memorial Healthcare Facility, Bolivar, received the District 4 Employee of the Year Award. Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer Donald J. Babb congratulated and thanked Howard for his many years of dedicated service.  “It is loyal individuals like Howard that have helped CMH grow and become a quality and service oriented, integrated health care system.  He and so many others are the backbone of this organization.  We are proud he was recognized and honored by the many facilities located across the state of Missouri.”

MHCA is Missouri’s largest association of licensed, long-term health care facilities, residential care facilities and assisted living facilities with headquarters in Jefferson City. With nearly 320 facility members, MHCA represents over 65 percent of Missouri’s licensed skilling nursing care facility along with many residential care and assisted living facilities, and is dedicated to improving the quality of life for the residents of long-term care.
