CMH to ‘chill out’ with tweens at annual Girls Night In event
Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) and Shannon Calvert, M.D., board-certified pediatrician with Butterfield Park Pediatrics, will host a free “girls only” event for tweens on April 29 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the CMH Community Rooms, located at the hospital, 1500 N. Oakland, Bolivar.
The Girls Night In summer-themed event is open to girls ages 9 to 13 and their mothers, grandmothers, aunts, teachers, caregivers and/or mentors. The event will focus on growing up, puberty, health and wellness, self-image, summer activities, etiquette and modesty.
“This is our sixth year to bring Girls Night In to our tween-agers. The ‘in between’ years of a young girls life are the perfect opportunity to discuss being healthy inside and out,” says Dr. Calvert. “Tween girls are impressionable and this event provides clear and relevant information and direction for pre-teen girls and the women influential in their lives. We want everyone in the room to feel comfortable, have fun, learn the right information from the right people and ask lots of questions.”
The free event includes fun door prizes and a light meal. Limited edition 2014 Girls Night In T-shirts are available in youth and adult sizes for $15 each. Space is limited and reservations are requested. For more information or to register visit http://conta.cc/1lCvYfd or call the CMH Information Center at 417-328-6010 or 888-328-6010.
