CMH Sports Medicine Center Athletic Trainers attend National Clinical Symposium

Morgan Simpson, ATC/LAT and Tony Harris, ATC/LAT, athletic trainers from the Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) Sports Medicine Center, located on the Southwest Baptist University (SBU) campus, attended the National Athletic Trainers Association 63rd Annual Meeting and Clinical Symposium in St. Louis, Mo.  The event was held June 26-29.

The Clinical Symposium consisted of medical learning sessions and special topics related to sports medicine care for patients of all ages.  Simpson and Harris attended sessions to help advance the care options for a variety of patients that visit the Sports Medicine Center.  Simpson attended a session about mild traumatic brain injuries, or concussions, given the popularity of the topic in the state currently regarding the new concussion law relating to high school athletes.  Harris attended a session about Positional Release Therapy to help reduce pain in patients with musculoskeletal dysfunction.
