Carrie J. Babb Cancer Center and Dunnegan Gallery of Art to host free art exhibit June 3
The Carrie J. Babb Cancer Center at Citizens Memorial Healthcare (CMH) and Dunnegan Gallery of Art will host a free art exhibit in honor of National Cancer Survivor’s Day on Sunday, June 3 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the art gallery located at 511 N. Pike in Bolivar.
“Everyone has been touched by cancer,” says Robert McMillan, director of oncology support at the cancer center. “We hope this art exhibit will inspire others on their cancer journey and are pleased to work with the Dunnegan Gallery of Art to bring the artwork to Bolivar.”
Lilly Oncology on Canvas: Expressions of a Cancer Journey is a nationwide art exhibition honoring the journeys people face when confronted by a cancer diagnosis. The free event will showcase select pieces of art reproduced from the original 2010 Lilly Oncology On Canvas competition. Themes explored in this inspiring collection range from fear and hope, to loss and survival, to isolation and the embrace of family and friends. The tour is made possible by Lilly and the National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship.
The afternoon will include a dessert reception and musical performances. For more information contact the CMH Event Line at 417-328-7247.
