CMH to host sports concussion management Lunch and Learn

Information presented on new Missouri legislation aimed to reduce risk from concussions in young athletes

Citizens Memorial Healthcare (CMH) will host a free sports concussion Lunch and Learn seminar on Thursday, July 28 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the CMH Community Rooms.  The event is hosted by board certified physician J.P. Simanis, M.D. in practice at CMH Sports and Occupational Medicine Clinic, CMH Rehabilitation Services and CMH Sports Medicine Center. 

The seminar is appropriate for junior varsity and varsity coaches and athletic directors, superintendents, school nurses, physicians, therapists and athletic trainers.  Information will be presented on signs and symptoms of concussions, recent changes in state legislation, new treatment protocols and when to refer to a physician.
