CMH to host grief survival class

Next six-week class to start Oct. 6

Citizens Memorial Hospice will host a bereavement support group starting in October. The six-week grief education and support class will be held on Thursdays beginning Oct. 6 from 10:30 a.m. to noon.  The group will meet in the Carrie J. Babb Cancer Center at Citizens Memorial Healthcare conference room, located at 1501 North Oakland in Bolivar.

“The meeting will provide a time of sharing, support and an opportunity to learn about our journey through grief.  We will also see how the physical, emotional and spiritual processes affect each of us and how to cope with the loss,” says Shari Hadley, bereavement coordinator of CMH Hospice and facilitator of the classes.

Classes will cover types of grief, healthy coping skills, when grief becomes depression, how finances change after death, how to cope with the holidays and much more. According to Hadley, this class is a closed group, meaning no new attendees can be added to the class once it starts on Oct. 6. There is no cost for attending these classes, however, registration is requested.

To register or to receive more information, please contact Hadley at 417-326-3585 or 800-955-3493.
