CMH to host 3rd Annual Girls Night In event for tweens
Citizens Memorial Healthcare (CMH), will host a the 3rd annual “girls only” event for tweens on May 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the CMH Community Rooms, located at 1500 N. Oakland, Bolivar.
The Tween Girls Night In event is open to girls ages 9 to 13 and their mothers, grandmothers, aunts, teachers, caregivers and/or mentors. The event will focus on growing up, puberty, health and wellness, self-image, inner beauty and fashion. Information will be presented by Shannon Calvert, M.D., board-certified pediatrician with Butterfield Park Pediatrics and other community leaders.
“The ‘in between’ years of a young girls life are the perfect opportunity to discuss being healthy inside and out,” says Dr. Calvert. “Tween girls are impressionable and this event will provide clear and relevant information and direction for pre-teen girls and the women influential in their lives. We want everyone in the room to feel comfortable, have fun, learn the right information from the right people and ask lots of questions.”
The event includes fun door prizes and a light meal. Cost is $5 per person and t-shirts will be available for $10 each. Space is limited and reservations are requested. For more information or to make a reservation, call 417-328-7247.
