CMH to celebrate National Nurses Week May 6-12
Citizens Memorial Healthcare (CMH) will celebrate National Nurses Week (NNW) May 6 until May 12, Florence Nightingale’s birthday. Florence Nightingale is known as the founder of the nursing profession. CMH will thank their nurses at a breakfast in their honor on Friday, May 6, which is National Nurses Day.
“Everyday, our 360 RNs and LPNs provide extraordinary care to our patients and residents,” said Donald J. Babb, Chief Executive Officer/Executive Director at CMH. “During Nurses Week, please consider taking a few minutes to thank a nurse for their compassion and commitment to patient care.”
NNW seeks to raise public awareness of the value of nursing and help educate the public about the vital roles registered nurses play in meeting the healthcare needs of the American public. There are nearly 2.9 million registered nurses in the United States and 2.4 million of those nurses are actively employed. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics RNs top the list of the 10 occupations with the largest projected job growth in the years 2002-2020.
