Citizens Memorial Hospital offers massage therapy to hospitalized patients, patients utilizing outpatient services/surgery, patient family members, friends and caregivers, as well as the general public. Massage therapy is proven to relieve stress and anxiety relating to medical procedures and help with the healing process. Massage is an excellent means of promoting relaxation and providing relief from the everyday stresses of life. Whether you are seeking relief from pain, searching for a method to deal with stress and anxiety, or wanting to maintain good health, massage may be the answer.

Payment is due at the time of service. Massage therapy is not covered by Medicare or Medicaid.
**Recommended for patients that are hospitalized. A physician's approval is necessary before a massage session can occur on a hospitalized patient. Services are done at bedside.
Massage uses positioning, hands on pressure and movement to promote muscle relaxation and to loosen and increase motion in muscles. Hands-on pressure applied during the massage session may include:
Light Touch - Gentle pressure which affects only the skin and connective tissues.
Medium Touch - Moderate pressure which affects some muscles.
Deep Touch - Involves deep muscular pressure, generally reserved for sports or neuromuscular therapies only.
