In the event of an emergency, you can rest assured that you and your loved ones will receive the best care possible at Citizens Memorial Healthcare. In 2004, to add to our already strong emergency team, we partnered with St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, to provide ambulatory helicopter transfers for seriously ill or critically injured patients. In doing so, our service area has grown to a radius of 150 miles, and we are now able to start the appropriate medical care immediately and then take the patient directly to the trauma center.

We've also recently expanded our emergency room by 28 percent to include a new streamlined patient triage system; a fast-track urgent care area; 12 beds; designated cardiac, obstetric and orthopedic rooms; a state-of-the-art nurses' station; and an enclosed garage to protect patients during the transfer process from ambulance to hospital.
